Dear Beta Phi at-Large Chapter Members,
In light of the recent events at the Sigma Theta Tau International level, our chapter supports the decision and actions taken to uphold the standards expected of Sigma leadership.
As a chapter, we remain fully committed to the values, integrity, professionalism, and ethical standards that define all Sigma nurses. No place exists within our organization, and especially our chapter, for behavior that does not reflect the principles of LOVE, COURAGE, and HONOR. We will continue to foster a chapter culture grounded in respect, accountability, and the values that unite everyone as nursing professionals.

I have copied the latest statement that all Sigma members, including your chapter leadership, have received.
"Dear Sigma Members,
Sigma Nursing’s Board of Directors has voted unanimously to terminate the employment of Lucas M. Davis as Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. There is no contractual payout associated with the termination.
Although the CEO was placed on leave the same day the information came to Sigma’s attention, the Board could not make a final employment decision without first reviewing the information available, consulting independent legal counsel, and fulfilling its governance responsibilities. We know the past few days have felt like an eternity for our Sigma community. We recognize how hard the uncertainty and waiting have been, and we have been living through this alongside you.
We know the events of this week have caused hurt, frustration, and questions across our membership. We also recognize that members have experienced and responded to this situation in different ways. We are listening, and we understand that one communication or one decision will not resolve every concern that has been raised.
We will immediately begin the process of identifying an interim CEO, with support from an independent, third-party executive search firm. We are grateful that Jason Allen, our CEO-designate, will continue leading Sigma’s day-to-day operations during this transition, alongside Dr. Kristi Reguin-Hartman, CNO, whose leadership and support remain crucial to the organization.
Our mission has not changed, and neither has our commitment to the nurses and communities we serve around the world.
Sigma is more than any one individual. It is a global community built over generations by nurses, members, volunteers, chapters, and staff who believe in our mission and in one another.
As we look to the future, we know there is work to do to strengthen accountability, rebuild trust, and ensure our actions reflect the values of love, courage, and honor that define this organization.
We will continue to share updates as there is meaningful information to provide.
